The Nordic Saxophone Festival is a weeklong festival for saxophonists around the world to meet, work, and create music together focusing primarily on contemporary chamber works for saxophones of all sizes.
The Nordic Saxophone Festival annually gathers saxophone players from the whole world for a week filled with rehearsals, concerts, social events and showcases. The focus of the festival is to create and explore the world of chamber music in different saxophone constellations.
Participation in the festival is free of charge. Accommodation, food, and transport is the participants own responsibility.
Participants are encouraged to contribute by suggesting repertoire they would like to work with. Participants may apply as either a single individual or as part of an existing ensemble. As a single participant we will put you in ensembles with other saxophonists. It is of great importance that you spend a lot of time preparing the pieces that are being performed at the festival.

Transportation
FLIGHTS
We recommend flying to the Faroe Islands with Atlantic Airways. Atlantic has direct flights to the Faroes from a number of bigger European cities. Check it out on their webpage. Copenhagen has several direct flights a day.
Students under 26 years old can apply for student discount through their “Sveiggj” campaign.
Airport Shuttles
On the Faroe Islands we recommend booking an Airport Shuttle Taxi with either Auto or Bil.
Busses are also available, but usually not scheduled to fit the flights.
City Busses
The city busses of Tórshavn are free of charge and they run every 15th minute on normal weekdays, a bit less during weekends.
Please note most venues are in walking distance in Tórshavn.
ACCOMMODATION
Scouts House
The festival has booked the house of the scouts for accommodation. This possibility is mainly for students and is free of charge. The house fits 40 people and will be first come first serve.
You need to bring your own sleeping bag or similar for this option.
